About Us

Steven Beal,
Founder and President

I’ve been working in the field of construction and architecture for over 27 years. Beginning when I was 18, I worked as a general carpenter and used that trade to put myself through both the Architecture and Construction Management programs at California Polytechnic State University. After several years working for an architectural firm and later managing the onsite operations with a large construction company in NYC, I decided to start my own remodeling company based here where I live in South Orange and Maplewood.

My company Steve Beal Construction LLC is based on providing its clients with high quality design and craftsmanship at a fair price and with a professional’s dedication to ethics and value. Though I used to manage over 200 workers and various trades on a daily basis, I purposefully started my business on a small scale, accepting only projects that I could do myself and with a small team of assistants. This was to be sure that I could maintain direct control over quality that I see so often missing from other remodeling projects.

As I’ve grown and undertaken larger projects SBC has increased our manpower by hiring qualified subcontractors. These additional hands enable us to deliver your new kitchen or bath quickly and efficiently. These other companies must meet our high standards for workmanship and professionalism. I believe that my work to date reflects a standard of quality and care that few home renovation companies can match.
